TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Apple is reportedly preparing to launch the iPhone 17e during the first half of 2026. This information, first revealed in recent supply chain reports, has been further corroborated by the South Korean media outlet, TheElec. The upcoming device is anticipated to be the successor to the iPhone 16e, which made its debut in February 2025.
Despite its designation as a new model, 9to5Mac reported that the iPhone 17e is not expected to introduce an array of enhancements. The report suggests that Apple intends to utilize the exact same display panel as its predecessor, the iPhone 16e. This panel is an OLED display that was originally recycled from the iPhone 14.
Speculation regarding the existence of the iPhone 17e has intensified following the discovery of product codes, believed to correspond to the device, by prominent technology leaker Fixed Focus Digital.
Shortly after, it was reported that the iPhone 17e model had entered its trial production stage, strongly suggesting a 2026 release.
Specifics on the iPhone 17e's features and specifications remain scarce. However, releasing this model outside the typical fall iPhone launch window appears to be Apple's strategic move to optimize production capacity during the flagship launch season, while maintaining sales momentum before introducing more affordable variants.
