Tadej Pogacar Celebrates Fourth Tour de France Title; Wout van Aert Dominates Final Stage

1 month ago 23

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Belgian cyclist, Wout van Aert (Visma-Lease a Bike), won the final stage of Tour de France 2025 in Paris, France, after defeating Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) on the slippery final climb of Cte de la Butte Montmartre due to light rain on Sunday, July 27.

Due to the slippery road conditions caused by the rain, the race organizers, in agreement with the UCI commissioners, teams, and riders, decided to stop the time at the fourth finish line before three laps through Cte de la Butte Montmartre.

Van Aert, who last won a stage at the Tour de France in 2022, launched a counterattack 300 meters before the final ascent and crossed the finish line alone at Champs-lyses. He completed the 21st stage in 3 hours 7 minutes 30 seconds.

This victory marked Van Aert's 10th stage victory in his Tour de France career.

Pogacar Overall Winner

Meanwhile, Pogacar finished in fourth place. However, he still sealed the overall Tour de France championship for the fourth time after leading the general classification of riders. Pogacar posted a total time of 76 hours 4 minutes 56 seconds.

Pogacar, now 26 years old, previously also became the overall champion in 2020, 2021, and 2024. The Slovenian rider also won the King of the Mountains classification for the third time after 2020 and 2021.

Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) secured second place in the final standings, with a time of 76 hours 4 minutes 56 seconds, followed by young rider Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) in third place, also claiming the white jersey.
