TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Indonesian contingent concluded its journey at the 2025 Asian Youth Games (AYG) in Bahrain with a total collection of 28 medals, including four gold, throughout the event held from October 22 to 31, 2025.
Based on the final official standings of AYG 2025 on Friday, Indonesia ranked 15th with four gold, six silver, and 18 bronze medals.
The first gold medal came from Pencak Silat. Young athlete Furgon Habbil Winata achieved a decisive victory, defeating host player Abdulla Qassim in the 51–55 kilogram men's category with a dominant score of 81–10.
The second gold was contributed by the weightlifting discipline. Lifter Muhammad Rijal Abdillah secured the top position on the podium in the 60-kilogram men's category, recording his best clean and jerk lift of 143 kilograms.
In badminton, the mixed doubles pair Raihan Pramono/Atresia Candani secured the third gold, defeating Hong Kong's Sai Shing Cheung/Wing Chi Chu with a score of 21–11, 21–17. Meanwhile, Sashenka Fatimah closed Indonesia's gold medal haul in the 63-kilogram women's judo category.
In addition to the four gold medals, the Indonesian contingent also secured six silver and 18 bronze medals from a diverse range of sports, including athletics, beach volleyball, swimming, taekwondo, triathlon, teqball, golf, e-sports, and weightlifting.
In the final medal standings, Indonesia was ranked below Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, North Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, India, Thailand, Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and China.
Host nation China emerged as the overall champion with a massive total of 147 medals (63 gold, 49 silver, and 35 bronze). Uzbekistan secured second place with 81 medals (37 gold, 16 silver, 28 bronze), followed by Kazakhstan in third place with 93 medals (24 gold, 29 silver, 40 bronze).
