TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Indonesian National Police (POLRI) has a horse riding simulator that serves as a training facility for personnel from the Turangga Detachment, or equestrian unit, within the Directorate of Animal Police. The Directorate of Animal Police, which falls under the Bhayangkara Samapta Corps (Korsabhara) of the National Police's Security Maintenance Agency (Baharkam), manages the facility.

The Head of the National Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, stated that the Directorate of Animal Police has four horse riding simulators purchased in the 2016 fiscal year. Each unit costs approximately Rp1 billion.

"There are four units for basic horse riding training," Johnny said in a written statement on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Johnny explained that the simulators assist with various training needs, such as learning to ride a horse at a walk, trot, and gallop. The horse simulators are also used for hurdle jumping and racing practice.

A video of the National Police's horse simulator went viral on social media after the Instagram account @garistrakos.official, belonging to the Head of the Tracking and Deterrence Sub-Directorate of the Wildlife Police Directorate, Senior Commissioner Gatot Aris Purbaya, shared it. In the video, Gatot shows the simulator in a special room. "This is the only horse simulator in Indonesia. We have a very complete simulator," Gatot said in the uploaded video.

The simulator is positioned facing screens that simulate riding terrain. In addition to the motion simulator, the room also features replica horse statues in various variations. The riding simulator room is located at the Wildlife Police Directorate Headquarters in Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java.
