1. Eight Athletes to Represent Indonesia at Gymnastics World Championship in Jakarta
The Indonesian Gymnastics Federation has announced that eight athletes will represent Indonesia at the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2025 at Indonesia Arena, Jakarta. The championships will take place from October 19 to 25, 2025.
The eight Indonesian gymnasts slated to compete are Abiyu Raffi, Muhammad Aprizal, Satria Tri Wira Yudha, Agung Suci Tantio Akbar, Joseph Judah Hatoguan, Alarice Mallica Prakoso, Salsabilla Hadi Pamungkas, and Larasati Rengganis.
Hesti Diwayanti, Chairperson of the Development and Achievement Division of the Indonesian Gymnastics Federation, said that the selection of the Indonesian gymnastics national team for this championship was a collective decision from various fields.
2. Indonesian Gov't Still Investigating Radiation Found in Shrimp Exports
The Cesium-137 Handling Task Force stated that it is still investigating the source of radioactive exposure in scrap metal that contaminated Indonesia's exported shrimp products.
"There are no conclusions at all. It's still in progress," said Bara Krishna Hasibuan, Head of the Diplomacy and Communications Division of the Cesium-137 Task Force, in Jakarta on Monday, October 13, 2025.
Bara explained that the shrimp products belonging to PT Bahari Makmur Sejahtera (BMS), which were repatriated from the Port of Los Angeles, United States, were contaminated by radioactive material from the steel smelting plant of PT Peter Metal Technology (PT PMT), located in the same industrial complex in Cikande, Serang, Banten.
3. Indonesia Invites Xiaomi to Invest in Electric Vehicle Industry
Indonesian Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita held a bilateral meeting with Jon Dove, Associate Government Affairs Director of Xiaomi Communications Co., Ltd., in Shanghai, China, on Friday, October 10, 2025.
Also in attendance were the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Eko S.A. Cahyanto; the Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics (ILMATE), Setia Diarta; and PT Xiaomi Technology Indonesia representatives Zhao Wentao, Managing Director, and Tel Lee, Product Certification Manager.
During the meeting, Minister Agus expressed his gratitude for Xiaomi's investment and contributions to developing the smartphone and television industry in Indonesia. "The Indonesian government highly appreciates Xiaomi's commitment to continuing to invest and develop its product line in Indonesia," said Agus in a written statement on Monday, October 13, 2025.
