TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency or BMKG predicts that most areas in Jakarta may experience light rain today, with some areas being mostly cloudy throughout the day.

According to BMKG's weather forecast for Tuesday, December 30, 2025, the areas with light rain include Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and West Jakarta. Meanwhile, based on BMKG's prediction, North Jakarta is expected to be mostly cloudy throughout the day.

Different weather is expected in the Thousand Islands. According to BMKG, the area, which is usually crowded with tourists during the year-end holiday season like now, is likely to experience high-intensity rain accompanied by thunderstorms.

The weather in the surrounding areas of Jakarta is predicted to be similar to most parts of Jakarta. Overall, including Bogor, Bekasi, Tangerang, Depok, and South Tangerang, light rain is expected.

Today's weather forecast is quite different from yesterday when high-intensity rain hit some areas in the Jabodetabek region. The prediction was proven by the rain that occurred in the afternoon.

However, heavy to very heavy rain still needs to be anticipated in Jabodetabek (Greater Jakarta) area. This is because Jakarta, Banten, and West Java are among those receiving early weather warnings from BMKG for the period from today until January 1, 2026.
