TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts mostly cloudy weather in the majority of the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Greater Jakarta) areas today, Friday, August 22, 2025. But some areas are expecting drizzles.
According to BMKG's weather forecast, Greater Jakarta is expected to be partly cloudy and overcast early Friday. As dawn rises, light rain is likely to fall in the Seribu Islands. The BMKG team recorded air humidity levels in the region today to range from 60 to 90 percent.
In the morning, light rain is expected to continue wetting the Seribu Islands, while other parts of Jakarta will remain overcast. Later in the day, drizzles are expected in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Overall, the air temperature in Jakarta is expected to range from 24 to 29 degrees Celsius throughout the day. The wind speed is approximately 1-13 kilometers per hour.
In West Java, light to moderate rain is likely to shower Bogor Regency throughout the day, with Bogor City following a bit later at 01:00 p.m. BMKG also detected the chance for light rain in Bekasi Regency in the afternoon, as well as in the city of Bekasi at 07:00 p.m.
Only the air temperature in Bogor Regency is expected to range from 17 to 30 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in surrounding areas, including Depok and Bekasi, will be higher, at around 19 to 33 degrees Celsius. The wind speed is approximately 5-11 kilometers per hour.
Overcast weather is predicted to dominate the Greater Jakarta area in Banten, covering Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City, and South Tangerang City. The temperature in these three areas is expected to range from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.
