BTS Confirms March 2026 Comeback After Four-Year Hiatus

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After a nearly four-year hiatus, K-pop group BTS officially announced that their reunion album will be released on March 20, 2026. The announcement was made through a series of handwritten letters to members of BTS's official fanclub, ARMY, and later confirmed by their agency, BigHit Music.

According to a Variety report, the upcoming album will be BTS's first release as a full group since 2022's Proof. The album was released three years ago before they decided to go on an extended hiatus to carry out their mandatory military service in South Korea.

Message to ARMY

According to an E! News report, BTS made the comeback date announcement special with handwritten letters to ARMY featuring "2026.3.20." The messages demonstrate the group's deep concern for ARMY and their desire to usher in a new era in an intimate and meaningful way.

Jin wrote that after previously greeting ARMY as a solo artist, he was finally able to greet them as part of a team again. RM stated that he has been "waiting for this moment more desperately than anyone," while Jungkook asked fans to "please take good care of us this year as well." J-Hope also said, "Finally, it’s the year that we will all be together with you!!"

The members, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, sent handwritten letters to fans' homes to celebrate the new year, expressing their gratitude for their support. Fans who didn't receive physical letters can receive the same messages on Weverse in late January 2026. They are preparing to allow all domestic and international fans to share the members' hearts, Naver reported.

World Tour Expectations

BigHit Music is reportedly preparing to announce a world tour in support of the album. This will be a highly anticipated moment for fans after a long hiatus. While full details of the tour have not yet been released, this move demonstrates the agency's confidence in the global impact of BTS's return as a unit.
