TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) has launched the Mudikpedia Nataru, an integrated guide for the Christmas and New Year holidays. This digital platform can be accessed through https://s.id/MudikpediaNataru, providing real-time and easily accessible information to the public.

The Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, said Mudikpedia proves the government's commitment to ensuring the safety and comfort of the people amidst the high year-end mobility. The Ministry of Transportation projects that approximately 119.50 million people will travel by land, sea, and air during the Christmas and New Year holiday season this year.

"Information accuracy is the key to safety. We realize that the mobility of more than 119.5 million people is not a trivial matter. This poses a significant logistical and public communications challenge," Meutya said in a written statement early this week.

Meutya said that through Mudikpedia Nataru, her ministry aims to ensure that every citizen has the same, accurate, and real-time access to information directly from their fingertips. "We want to minimize the risk of the public falling for hoaxes or getting confused amidst the heavy traffic. Mudikpedia is a digital compass," she said.

She explained that this year's influx of travelers is influenced by the high public enthusiasm and a relatively stable economy. Mudikpedia is expected to help travelers determine the time of departure and travel routes to avoid traffic congestion.

"The goal is clear, which is efficiency. Travelers can monitor traffic in real-time, check toll rates, and look at culinary maps for rest stops," she said.

Mudikpedia Nataru is designed with a user-friendly interface and includes several main features, such as a list of important numbers, including crisis centers, ambulance services, and police and Pertamina services; traffic monitoring and diversion information; toll rates and electric vehicle charging station locations; culinary maps and tourist destinations; as well as information on infrastructure readiness and transportation modes, including public transport ramp checks.

Other than a travel guide, this platform also aims to encourage local economic activities through the integration of culinary and tourism information along travel routes and destination areas.

Meutya stated that the data in Mudikpedia Nataru will be regularly updated, especially to respond to traffic dynamics and the likely chance of extreme weather during the year-end.
