France and Indonesia Expand Partnership, Aim for Regional Stability

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto welcomed France's commitment to enhance a robust and visionary bilateral partnership. He asserted that this cooperation can contribute to the stability and prosperity of the broader region.

"This strategic cooperation not only reflects the national interests of each party but also contributes to the stability and prosperity of the region and the world," Prabowo said in a post on his X account, @prabowo, on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

The Head of State emphasized that he and French President Emmanuel Macron agreed to promote inclusive and sustainable economic development, aimed at enhancing the welfare of their respective populations.

"Let us strengthen synergy and build a future of mutual progress," Prabowo affirmed.

Previously, French President Emmanuel Macron disclosed a discussion with President Prabowo Subianto on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

Macron indicated that he and Prabowo agreed to strengthen cooperation across various future projects. This collaboration is intended to build a forward-looking economic partnership between France and Indonesia.

"France and Europe seek to build the future economy alongside Indonesia by establishing resilient value chains, particularly in critical metal sectors, and supporting energy transitions," he stated in a tweet in Indonesian on his official X account, @EmmanuelMacron, on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

Macron mentioned that this cooperation will be further solidified during his upcoming state visit to Indonesia at the end of May. The cooperative initiatives will encompass the fields of defense, economy, science, and cultural exchange.

Additionally, their conversation addressed preparations for a conference on Gaza, scheduled for June, with the objective of fostering peace in the Middle East and contributing to the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.

"We will collaborate in preparing for the conference on Gaza, which will be held in June," President Macron stated.
