Gmail Introduces AI Feature to Streamline Email Search

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Google's email service, Gmail, has been updated with artificial intelligence (AI) to help users search for emails more efficiently.

In a statement on its blog, Google explained that the AI used for searching in Gmail is now smarter, allowing users to get the most relevant search results faster.

"Instead of just displaying emails in chronological order based on keywords, Gmail search results now take into account factors such as the latest time, most frequently clicked emails, and frequently interacted contacts," Google said in a written statement quoted on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

This 'most relevant' search feature is being rolled out globally for personal Google account users. Users can access it through the web and the official Gmail app on Android and iOS. "Once the feature is available on your account, you can switch between 'most relevant' and 'most recent' results," Google said. The company also plans to expand this feature for business users in the future.
