TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government will disburse an additional transfer to regions (TKD) amounting to Rp10.65 trillion for Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that the amount aligns with the proposal from the Ministry of Home Affairs. The additional TKD will be distributed in stages over three months, from February to April.

"Starting from February, 40 percent will be allocated, 30 percent in March, and 30 percent in April," Purbaya said during the Sumatra Post-Disaster Recovery Task Force meeting at the Parliament complex on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Therefore, the disbursement of additional TKD by the end of February will reach Rp4.3 trillion.

The state treasurer stated that all TKD allocations for disaster-affected provinces have been revised upward. This additional allocation includes the settlement of revenue-sharing fund (DBH) underpayments, additional DBH, general allocation funds, and the special autonomy fund for Aceh.

As of Tuesday, February 17, 2026, total TKD disbursed to the three provinces reached Rp13 trillion. According to Purbaya, this amount is higher than the Rp10.78 trillion recorded during the same period last year.

Purbaya noted that regional financial conditions at the start of 2026 show sufficient budgets for disaster management. He mentioned that Aceh has Rp3.5 trillion, North Sumatra Rp1.4 trillion, and West Sumatra Rp1.8 trillion. "So we ensure that at that time, money is not a problem for them to rebuild or handle the disaster," he said.

Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian explained that the government had consulted President Prabowo Subianto on whether the additional TKD would apply to all regencies and cities. This follows reports that several areas in these three provinces were not affected by the disaster.

Tito detailed that 18 out of 23 regencies in Aceh were affected, while 18 out of 33 regencies in North Sumatra were hit. In West Sumatra, 16 out of 19 regencies were affected. "The President said that this is a provincial disaster, so all will be given [additional TKD]," Tito said.
