Indonesian Police Investigate Facebook Incest Groups, Identify Suspects

5 hours ago 2

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian National Police have launched an investigation into several Facebook groups allegedly sharing incest-related content, including the group Fantasi Sedarah (Incest Fantasy), which has recently drawn widespread public attention.

The investigation is being conducted by the Directorate of Cyber Crime (Dittipidsiber) of the Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) together with the Cyber Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.

Authorities claim they have already identified several individuals actively participating in these groups and are currently working to locate and apprehend them.

"We have identified the profiles of the suspects and our team is currently in pursuit. We are also committed to continuously tracking down and cracking down on similar groups on various social media platforms," said Police Brigadier General Erdi A. Chaniago, Head of the Public Information Division at the National Police, in a written statement on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

Groups under scrutiny include Fantasi Sedarah and Grup Suka Duka, both of which are reported to have thousands of active members. Initial monitoring revealed disturbing uploads, including content involving child and female pornography.

Erdi urged public vigilance and cooperation. "We urge the public to actively participate in maintaining a healthy and safe digital space, and to report any content that deviates and has the potential to violate the law," he added.

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police emphasized their coordination with relevant authorities to address this matter swiftly, particularly with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), which holds authority to block such content.

"There will certainly be coordination with relevant stakeholders for the disclosure of such cases," said Police Grand Commissioner (AKBP) Reonald Simanjuntak, Head of the Public Relations Subdivision of the Jakarta Metro Police, during a press conference on Friday, May 16, 2025.

This investigation follows a viral post on social media platform X that exposed the existence of Fantasi Sedarah on Facebook, a group allegedly promoting incestuous content. The post also highlighted the presence of several similar groups on the platform.

The viral content included a screenshot of a post from the group, showing an image of a child allegedly uploaded by their own parent with an inappropriate caption.

"The group has now been deleted, but there are still other similar groups," the caption read.
