Semarang District Court sentenced First Inspector Adjutant (Aipda) Robig Zainudin to 15 years in prison for fatally shooting Gamma Rizkynata Oktavandy, a 17-year-old student from Semarang, Central Java. The judges delivered the verdict on Friday, August 8, 2025.

"We sentence the defendant, Robig Zainudin bin Mulyono, to 15 years in prison and a fine of Rp200 million, with a subsidiary of one month in prison if failing to pay," said presiding judge Mira Sendangsari at the Semarang District Court on Friday.

The police officer was proven to have violated Child Protection Law Number 35 of 2014, as at the time of the shooting, the Semarang student was 17 years and one month old.

Verdict Lower Than Prosecutors' Demand

Prosecutors previously demanded a 15-year prison sentence and a Rp200 million fine with a subsidiary of six months in prison for Robig. Upon hearing the verdict, the prosecutor said they would weigh in on their options.

Similarly, Aipda Robig, dressed in a white shirt, black pants, and a white peci (traditional Islamic hat), also said that he would consider his options against the verdict. Robig was then escorted out of the courtroom.

Aipda Robig was suspected last year of shooting Gamma and two of his friends on Candi Penataran Raya Street, Semarang City, on November 24, 2024. As a result of the incident, Gamma was killed while his two friends suffered injuries.
