TEMPO.CO, Sleman - Indonesian robotic team, Go2STEAM from Madrasah Technonatura Yogyakarta (MTY), has entered the top 40 in the First Tech Challenge (FTC) 2025 in Houston, Texas, United States. Held on April 16-19, the international event was attended by 256 teams from various countries.

According to a statement from KJRI Houston, the First Tech Challenge (FTC) is considered one of the most prestigious robotics competitions for the 12- to 18-year-old age group. This event provides a platform for young talents worldwide to showcase their skills in three categories: elementary school, junior/senior high school, and college. The total number of participants this year reached more than 4,000 students.

More than just a competition, the FTC is also noted as a stage for young people to transform into pioneers of future technology. "Team Go2STEAM may not have advanced to the playoff round, but their performance still received praise and appreciation from the judges and other participants."

Go2STEAM consists of eight ninth-grade students. This team was awarded for their high evaluation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. The Indonesian team's presentation on the potential development of STEM in the future was positively assessed by the judges of FTC 2025.

Sleman Regent Harda Kiswaya also appreciates the team. He expressed pride in the achievement of the Madrasah Technonatura students in Kalurahan Bimomartani, Ngemplak, Sleman Regency.

"Sleman Regency is ready to provide continuous support for the young generation with potential in the field of technology, especially robotics," he said on Thursday, April 24, 2025.

According to him, the skills possessed by the students of Madrasah Technonatura must be developed. Therefore, the students can participate in other international competitions and return home with victories.
