TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Commuter Line train operator KAI Commuter has announced that its services, which were disrupted by demonstrations last night, are back to normal as of this morning, Friday, August 29, 2025.
"Commuter Line operational activities this morning are normal. Based on our observations, most users are daily commuters who have resumed their activities," said Joni Martinus, VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, in a written statement.
As of 9:30 a.m., several Commuter Line stations were reported to be conducive and relatively smooth. Joni confirmed that the Commuter Line Rangkasbitung service is also operating normally and is once again passing through Tanah Abang Station. Karet Station, which was also closed last night, has resumed normal services for users this morning.
Although the situation in the stations is calm, Joni stated that KAI Commuter is still taking precautions, including increasing the number of officers at busy stations and adjusting train service as needed.
"The operational activities of the Commuter Line will be adjusted if the service routes are not conducive and endanger the train's journey and users," he said.
KAI Commuter is urging passengers to follow the directions of officers at the stations and to help maintain order and safety.
