TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, handed out redemption assistance for students' diplomas in Jakarta on Thursday, August 21, 2025. This assistance delivery marks the fourth wave of the diploma redemption program by the Jakarta Provincial Government.
A total of Rp7.6 billion in diploma redemption assistance was given to 1,897 students in the fourth stage. "This program is crucial for students whose diplomas are withheld due to financial issues," Pramono said in a written statement on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
With the distribution of diplomas in the fourth stage, the Jakarta Provincial Government has provided a total of Rp12 billion in assistance to 3,212 students. Pramono aims to reach 6,652 students with the diploma redemption program this year.
In the previous stages of diploma redemption assistance, the government spent Rp4.3 billion for 1,315 students. The program commenced in April 2025, two months after Pramono took office.
According to Pramono, numerous students' diplomas in Jakarta have been withheld for years. He hopes that, with the help of government redemption assistance, these graduates can now pursue further education or secure employment.
To redeem the students' diplomas in Jakarta, Pramono Anung collaborated with the National Alms Agency (Baznas) in Jakarta. The politician from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) also expressed gratitude to Baznas Bazis Jakarta for funding the diploma redemption program.
In addition to redeeming diplomas, Pramono also sent off 1,102 recipients of the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) for an educational trip to several museums in Jakarta. The government funded this educational tour. "Today marks the first educational trip for 1,102 KJP recipients in elementary, junior high, high school, and vocational schools, along with 215 accompanying teachers provided full facilitation by the Jakarta Provincial Government," said the Jakarta Governor.
According to Pramono, this educational tour is designed to broaden the insights of Jakarta's children by visiting various historical and educational sites. The educational trip on Thursday will visit several museums, including MH Thamrin Museum, Joang '45 Museum, Wayang Museum, Textile Museum, Maritime Museum, Art and Ceramic Museum, and HB Jassin Library.
