TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued a warning for residents of Jakarta and its surrounding areas (Jabodetabek): be alert for potential rain, which may be accompanied by lightning or thunder, from Friday afternoon to night, October 24, 2025.

With air humidity projected to fluctuate between 75 and 97 percent, the overall weather conditions for the day are generally expected to be overcast with periods of light rainfall.

Based on the official BMKG 24-hour weather projection, the day is anticipated to commence with partly sunny skies across the majority of Jakarta and its neighbors, precisely between 01:00 and 07:00 West Indonesian Time (WIB). During this initial period, the potential for light rain is relatively limited, primarily affecting parts of the Thousand Islands, Bekasi Regency, and Bogor Regency.

Subsequently, by 13:00 WIB, the weather is expected to transition, gradually becoming cloudy with a high concentration of clouds. This shift brings a greater potential for light rain in localized areas, including portions of the Thousand Islands, Bogor Regency, West Jakarta, North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, Bogor City, and Bekasi Regency. Concurrently, moderate intensity rain is specifically forecasted to affect South Jakarta, East Jakarta, Bekasi City, and Depok City.

Toward 19:00 WIB, the entire Jabodetabek area is projected to experience rainfall, with intensity ranging from low to moderate. Furthermore, there is an expectation that this precipitation will be coupled with strong wind gusts.

The air temperature across the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) region today is predicted to range from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius. In contrast, the temperatures recorded in Bogor City and Bogor Regency are forecast to be slightly lower, generally maintaining a range of approximately 18-31 degrees Celsius.
