TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has recovered a total of Rp1.85 trillion in state funds from corruption cases over the past three years. According to KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo, the agency recovered Rp558.4 billion in 2022, Rp539.6 billion in 2023, and Rp753.6 billion in 2024.
In a written statement on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Budi stated that the funds came from non-tax state revenue (PNBP), grants, and the official transfer of seized KPK assets to ministries, regional governments, and public institutions. He also noted that the amount recovered equals nearly 50 percent of the total KPK budget over the same period, which reached Rp3.91 trillion.
KPK’s budget absorption in the three years was considered efficient. In 2022, the agency spent Rp1.26 trillion, or 96.98 percent of its Rp1.30 trillion budget.
The following year, it spent Rp1.30 trillion from a Rp1.31 trillion budget, and in 2024, the budget realization reached Rp1.35 trillion, or 98.29 percent of Rp1.37 trillion.
As of June 2025, KPK had used Rp736.3 billion, or 59.5 percent of its Rp1.17 trillion budget for the year. During the same period, the agency recovered Rp452.88 billion in state funds. This includes Rp402.61 billion from PNBP and Rp50.26 billion from grants and asset status transfers.
For 2026, the KPK has proposed a budget of Rp1.34 trillion, which will be allocated to support internal operations and the agency’s core functions of prevention and prosecution.
Budi reiterated KPK’s commitment to improving its effectiveness as a law enforcement agency. He emphasized that corruption eradication should not only focus on prosecution but also on recovering state assets and preventing losses through education, oversight, and coordination.
“Law enforcement should serve as both a deterrent and a tool for restoring state finances. Prevention is also essential in minimizing future losses,” he said.
