TEMPO.COJakarta - PT Pertamina emphasizes that it is not seeking profits amidst the scarcity of fuel oil (BBM) experienced by private gas stations. This was conveyed by Pertamina's President Director, Simon Aloysius Mantiri.

"Pertamina is not taking advantage of this situation (scarcity of private gas stations). We are also not seeking profits," said Simon as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

Simon stated that discussions with private gas station operators are ongoing to reach an agreement. In the discussions, both Pertamina and private gas station operators are open with each other.

"We are both open books so that the prices in society are not affected. So that there are no price increases in society," said Simon.

Pertamina Patra Niaga said that PT Vivo Energy Indonesia (Vivo) and PT Aneka Petroindo Raya (APR)-AKR Corporindo Tbk (bp gas station operator) have agreed to follow up on the cooperation in importing BBM to a more technical stage. "Vivo, APR, and AKR have agreed to follow up on more technical discussions," said Pertamina Patra Niaga's Acting Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun.

Roberth stated that the next stage of the discussion on importing BBM cooperation is an agreement on documents regarding upholding Good Corporate Governance (GCG) and regulations, such as statements on anti-monopoly, money laundering, and bribery.

In addition, the private gas station operators will later submit the commodities needed, discuss agreements related to product specifications, key terms, as well as general terms and conditions.

Roberth emphasized that the procurement process is running with the agreement of the three private businesses. This is because the cargo delivery is in one procurement and not separated.

On the other hand, Exxon and Shell Indonesia have not been able to continue the discussions. Shell is considered to need coordination with the head office, while Exxon will discuss the needs for November because they still have adequate stock.
