PM Fiji Visits Indonesia to Meet with President Prabowo

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will receive a visit from the Prime Minister (PM) of the Republic of Fiji, Sitiveni Rabuka, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday, April 24, 2025.

The Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, said that Prabowo will welcome Rabuka at around 10:00 AM WIB (Western Indonesian Time). The two leaders will have a tete-a-tete meeting and a bilateral meeting with delegations from both countries.

"The official visit will conclude with a formal luncheon hosted by President Prabowo to honor PM Rabuka," said Yusuf Permana in a written statement on Thursday, April 24, 2025.

Yusuf stated that the two leaders will discuss strengthening bilateral relations and Indonesia-Fiji cooperation. The visit is expected to be a strategic momentum in enhancing collaboration between Indonesia and Fiji, as well as strengthening the roles of both countries in facing global challenges together," he said.

Rabuka arrived at Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, on Wednesday night, April 23, 2025, around 8:50 PM WIB. PM Rabuka's arrival marks the beginning of his two-day official visit to Indonesia from April 23 to 24, 2025.

Upon arrival at the airport, PM Rabuka was greeted with a ceremonial honor guard as a form of state courtesy. Also present at the welcome ceremony were the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Fiji, Dupito D. Simamora.

From the airport, PM Rabuka and his delegation then continued their journey to the hotel where they will be staying during their time in Jakarta. On Thursday, April 24, 2025, PM Rabuka is scheduled to make an official visit to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
