TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto will evaluate all members of the Red and White Cabinet following the Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) arrest of the Deputy Minister of Manpower, Immanuel Ebenezer.
State Secretary Minister, Prasetyo Hadi, said Prabowo will give stronger warnings to his aides against corruption. "Because this proves that corruption has indeed become a stage four disease, an advanced stage," he said at the Presidential Palace complex in Central Jakarta on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Besides the ministers, Prasetyo said Prabowo will warn public officials and citizens against corruption. The president, he said, has also regularly reminded his aides to be cautious and work hard to eradicate corruption.
Prasetyo said Prabowo wants the eradication of corruption to start from government officials. All members of the cabinet must have the spirit to combat corruption. "In addition to not making controversial statements in public. These are the two things he always emphasized," he said.
Prasetyo has not disclosed the schedule for the evaluation of the Red and White Cabinet ministers. He also stated that the ministers are still carrying out their respective duties.
"This incident serves as a reminder for all of us, but it doesn't mean everyone will be summoned immediately after that," he said.
Prabowo, he added, respects the legal process carried out by KPK against the Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer. According to Prasetyo, Prabowo has received a report on Immanuel's arrest. The news was directly conveyed by Prasetyo to Prabowo.
Prasetyo reported that Prabowo will replace Immanuel if he is proven to have engaged in corruption. Currently, Prabowo is still awaiting KPK's official statement.
KPK conducted a sting operation at the Ministry of Manpower today, as confirmed by KPK Deputy Chair Fitroh Rohcahyanto.
One of those arrested is Immanuel Ebenezer. Three law enforcement officers stated that the KPK apprehended around 20 people in the operation. Apart from Immanuel, there were also officials at the second echelon of the Ministry of Manpower.
Tempo has contacted Immanuel Ebenezer for confirmation but has yet to receive a response.
