Several museums in the world have become major tourist attractions, some even requiring visitors to queue for hours to enter. These are the most visited museums in the world.
1. The Louvre Museum, Paris

In response, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a massive modernization plan worth 800 million euros, or Rp15.2 trillion to improve facilities and build an underground gallery specifically for the famed Mona Lisa. Eventually, the museum will be able to accommodate up to 12 million visitors annually by 2031.

Located on Tiananmen Square, the National Museum of China in Beijing is one of the largest museums in the world. With an area of over 192,000 square meters, the museum presents the history of Chinese dynasties to contemporary art.
The museum has become a cultural pride and attraction for international visitors. Last year, it welcomed 6.96 million visitors.
3. The Vatican Museums, Vatican City
Visitors to the Vatican Museums reached 6.825 million in 2024. The museum is renowned for Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling. Visitors come not only for sightseeing but also for pilgrimage. 4. The British Museum, London
The British Museum recorded 6.48 million visits last year. The museum tells the story of human civilization, from the Rosetta Stone to Egyptian mummies. With free admission, the museum remains one of the most beloved institutions in London.

The National Gallery of Art in the capital of the United States combines American heritage with classic European works. Both local and international visitors can enter for free. Last year, the museum welcomed 3.93 million visitors.
