1. Labor Unions to Stage Two-Day Protest Rejecting 2026 Minimum Wage

The Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) will hold a protest to reject the determination of the 2026 provincial minimum wage (UMP). Thousands of workers will carry out the demonstration for two consecutive days on December 29 and 30, 2025, at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta.

KSPI President, Said Iqbal, stated that the main issue of the workers' protest is the rejection of the UMP increase and the demand for the implementation of the sectoral minimum wage above the Jakarta Living Cost Standard (KHL). They also reject the determination of the Sectoral Minimum Wage for Regencies/Cities (UMSK) throughout West Java.

The December 29 protest is expected to be attended by around 1,000 workers, gathering at Patung Kuda at 10:00 AM. On December 30, the demonstration will be attended by a minimum of 10,000 workers, with plans for a convoy of 10,000 to 20,000 motorcycles from various regions of West Java to Jakarta.

2. Full List: Indonesia's 2026 Minimum Wages in 36 Provinces

A total of 36 governors have announced the 2026 provincial minimum wage (UMP) as of Saturday, December 26, 2025. Two remaining provinces, namely Aceh and Highland Papua, are still in the process of calculating and determining next year’s UMP.

Under Government Regulation Number 49 of 2025 on Wages, the deadline for announcing provincial minimum wages was December 24 at the latest.

In the latest regulation, the central government has set the formula for calculating the 2026 UMP increase as inflation + (economic growth × alpha). The alpha coefficient, or index, for the 2026 UMP ranges between 0.5 and 0.9.

3. ADOR Terminates Danielle NewJeans' Contract, Moves to Sue Her Family Member

Following ADOR’s announcement in November regarding Haerin and Hyein’s return to K-pop girl group NewJeans, the company has just shared another update concerning the remaining members’ contract statuses.

On December 29, ADOR confirmed that Hanni will continue her activities under the label, while Danielle was officially notified of her contract termination. According to Forbes, ADOR explained that it had “determined that it would be difficult for her to continue as a NewJeans member and ADOR artist,” leading the company to inform her of the termination of her exclusive contract that day.
