TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Reaching a new milestone, OpenAI has officially introduced ChatGPT-5. As the latest advancement in its language model lineup, ChatGPT-5 builds on the strengths of its predecessors and introduces new levels of intelligence, speed, and versatility.
Touted as OpenAI’s most advanced model to date, ChatGPT-5 is claimed to be smarter, faster, and more intuitive than ever. According to The Verge, OpenAI states that interacting with GPT-5 will feel like "talking to a PhD-level expert,” complete with a lower hallucination rate, which means it fabricates fewer answers.
ChatGPT-5 also introduces greater personalization options. Users can now customize the interface with new color schemes and choose from a variety of built-in personalities, including “Cynic,” “Robot,” “Listener,” and “Nerd.” These updates build upon the recently launched "Memories" feature, which allows ChatGPT to recall information from previous chats for a more contextualized experience.
With almost 700 million users per week, OpenAI has structured access to GPT-5 across three tiers: GPT-5, GPT-5 mini, and GPT-5 nano. Free users will have access to GPT-5 Mini when the quota for the full GPT-5 is reached. Meanwhile, ChatGPT Plus subscribers receive higher usage limits, and Pro users enjoy unlimited access to GPT-5, including a more powerful version known as GPT-5 Pro, as reported by CNBC.
One of the most talked-about features is GPT-5’s enhanced coding abilities. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman believes this advancement could usher in an era of “software on demand.” In benchmark testing, GPT-5 has outperformed all previous models in tools like SWE-Bench, SWE-Lancer, and Aider Polyglot.
In addition, GPT-5 reportedly recognizes its limitations more effectively. This means it will more often admit when it can’t complete a task or answer a question accurately.
OpenAI is in talks with investors regarding a potential stock sale, which could value the company at approximately US$500 billion.
