TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Cikopo-Palimanan Toll Road operator recorded approximately 41,000 vehicles passing through the Cipali Toll Road during the eight hours leading up to Eid al-Fitr, or on Thursday morning.
Ardam Rafif Trisilo, Head of the Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Department at Astra Tol Cipali, stated in a statement in Subang, West Java, on Thursday that as of Thursday morning, one-way traffic flow on the Cipali Toll Road was consistently busy and smooth, although there were some slowdowns in several areas.
Based on data from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB), approximately 41,000 vehicles passed through the former Cikopo Toll Gate towards Cirebon.
This number of vehicles passed through by 1 percent compared to the same period the previous day, with an average volume of 5,200 vehicles per hour.
He said that after analyzing the cause of the slowdown at several points on the Cipali Toll Road on Thursday morning, after identification, the condition occurred due to the increasing number of vehicles stopped on the shoulder of the road.
In response, Astra Tol Cipali officers, along with the police, are continuing to handle vehicles experiencing problems on the ground.
Officers are also advising road users not to rest on the roadside, as this poses a significant safety risk.
"We strongly advise road users to use the nearest toll gate as an alternative rest area if the rest area is full," he said.
Astra Tol Cipali guarantees that resting outside the toll road area will not incur additional charges, as the closed transaction system on the Trans-Java Toll Road network calculates fares based on the distance traveled (accumulated per kilometer).
Astra Tol Cipali urges all road users to prepare thoroughly for their journeys, ensuring they are physically fit and their vehicles are in top condition.
