Bribery Fugitive Harun Masiku's Passport Revoked, KPK Says

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) announced that it has revoked the passport of Harun Masiku, a fugitive linked to the bribery case involving former commissioner of KPU, Wahyu Setiawan. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the agency has pulled Harun's passport since his designation on the wanted list.

According to Budi, KPK has requested the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections to revoke the passport of the former cadre of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP).

"Revoking the passport prevents an individual from leaving a country, for example, overseas, to search for their whereabouts," said Budi at the KPK's Red and White building in South Jakarta on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

Previously, Minister of Immigration Agus Andrianto assured that it will not get in the way of revoking Harun Masiku's passport if KPK or other law enforcement agencies make such a request. "If necessary, we will revoke it as well. There's no problem with that," said Agus Andrianto when met at the Shangri-La Hotel in Central Jakarta on Monday, August 4, 2025.

The anti-corruption agency said it will promptly resolve the issue despite the presidential pardon received by the Secretary-General of the PDIP, Hasto Kristiyanto. KPK said the amnesty granted by Prabowo will not affect the case involving Harun Masiku.

"KPK is striving to continue the search and will collaborate with various other law enforcement agencies and the general public on (Harun Masiku's) whereabouts," said Budi Prasetyo at the KPK's Red and White building in South Jakarta, on Friday, August 1, 2025.

"KPK will certainly continue the ongoing investigation, including about HM's whereabouts," he said.
