TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Danantara Indonesia CEO Rosan Perkasa said that all banks and financial institutions under Danantara (Himbara/State-Owned Banks) are ready to support the National Electric Motor (Molinas) by providing funding at lower interest rates.
"All banks and financial institutions under Danantara are ready to support. From the banking sector, we provide funding with lower interest rates and longer terms," Rosan said at the launch and inauguration of Molinas and its supporting ecosystem in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, on Thursday, August 13, 2026, as quoted by ANTARA.
Additionally, Rosan said that Danantara plans to reduce or eliminate the initial 10 percent down payment.
This step aims to increase public interest in purchasing electric motorcycles. "This way, we can accelerate production of national electric motorcycles in Indonesia," said Rosan.
Rosan, who is also the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), assessed that the potential market for electric motorcycles in Indonesia reaches US$170 billion or around Rp3,036 trillion (exchange rate of Rp17,858.70).
Rosan said that based on this potential, approximately 10 national companies have met the Ministry of Industry's TKDN (Domestic Component Level) criteria.
Rosan also emphasized PT Len Industri's role in developing national electric motorcycles that meet international standards. "We're not just champions in Indonesia, but also regionally, and even globally," Rosan said.
President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the domestically made National Electric Motorcycle (Molinas) and its supporting ecosystem at the PT Ilectra Motor Group (ALVA) production facility, Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java, on Thursday.
President Prabowo, in his remarks, praised the courage of private business players, especially those willing to take the risk of producing electric motorcycles, amidst the onslaught of competition from electric motorcycles made in China, Japan, and South Korea.
For the President, the entrepreneurs' steps are part of a joint effort to build Indonesia—which President Prabowo often refers to as Indonesia Incorporated.
According to Prabowo, entrepreneurs' courage to produce electric motorbikes is in the national interest, particularly in reducing dependence on imported fuel oil.
