TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former British PM Tony Blair and former Middle East Envoy Jared Kushner attended U.S. President Donald Trump's meeting on a post-war plan for Gaza, a senior White House official said.
Trump, top White House officials, Blair, and Kushner discussed all aspects of the Gaza issue, including increased food aid delivery, the hostage crisis, post-war plans, and much more, said the official quoted from Al Arabiya on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
The official described the session as simply a policy meeting. U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff previewed the meeting on Fox News on Tuesday.
“It is a very comprehensive plan we are putting together on the next day (in Gaza) and many people are going to see how robust it is and how well meaning it is and it reflects President Trump’s humanitarian motives here,” said Witkoff.
Trump pledged a swift end to the Israeli war in Gaza, but the resolution remains difficult to achieve during his second term so far.
Trump's term began with a ceasefire that lasted for two months, until an Israeli attack killed about 400 Palestinian civilians on March 18. At least 62,895 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli genocidal war in Gaza since October 2023.
The man-made starvation Israel imposed in the enclave has killed 313 Palestinian civilians, including 119 children.
Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces have killed 2,158 starving Palestinian civilians waiting in food queues since May 27.
The UN has declared a famine disaster in the city of Gaza.
Recently, images of starving Palestinians in Gaza, including children, have shocked the world and sparked criticism of Israel for the deteriorating conditions there.
“President Trump has been clear that he wants the war to end, and he wants peace and prosperity for everyone in the region. The White House has nothing additional to share on the meeting at this time,” said another White House official.
