The Indonesian Shopping Mall Management Association (APPBI) is scheduled to host the Indonesia Shopping Festival (ISF) 2025 from August 14-24, 2025. This annual event will involve over 400 shopping malls across Indonesia, with a targeted transaction value of Rp23.32 trillion.
"This is intended for several purposes, in addition to celebrating Indonesia's independence, it is also designed to boost the sales of domestic products and MSMEs," explained Alphonzus Widjaja, Chair of APPBI, during the ISF 2025 press conference at the Ministry of Trade Auditorium on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
Alphonzus also noted that ISF 2025 is timed to stimulate consumer spending during the low season. "Shopping malls in Indonesia are dominated by the middle and lower classes, accounting for up to 95 percent [of our visitors]. Programs like this can certainly help them shop at more affordable prices," he added.
Festival Highlights and Special Promotions
The ISF program will feature discounts of up to 80 percent, local product and MSME bazaars, and various independence-themed entertainment events.
Shoppers who make purchases starting from August 1st will also be entered into a prize draw for an electric car, with the winner being announced at the closing ceremony on August 28 at Summarecon Mall Serpong.
Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti expressed her support for the initiative. "We greatly appreciate the cooperation established by the associations involved with our Ministry of Trade," she said.
She also commended APPBI's decision to offer substantial discounts, stating, "This is a gift for the public to be able to shop, and of course, who doesn't like discounts?"
