TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) held an exhibition of primary weapon systems (alutsista) at the National Monument (Monas) field in Central Jakarta on Saturday and Sunday, September 20-21, 2025. The event was organized to celebrate TNI's 80th Anniversary on October 5th.
Hundreds of alutsista and tactical vehicles belonging to the military were parked in the 800 x 600-meter field. This alutsista came from the three branches of the Indonesian National Armed Forces.
For example, the Indonesian Army brought dozens of tanks of various sizes to TNI's 80th Anniversary celebration. The Logistics Assistant to the Chief of Staff of the TNI, Major General Adisura Firdaus Tarigan, stated that the displayed alutsista and non-alutsista were brought from the Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi) area, Bandung, and Malang. "Starting from (the) Badak, Harimau, Anoa, Leopard," he said when met at Monas, Central Jakarta, on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
He mentioned that the Harimau tank is a new alutsista owned by their unit. Tarigan added that the Harimau tank, which is produced in Indonesia, is a result of cooperation with Turkey.
The Indonesian Army also showcased Kostrad's 4x4 tactical vehicle named Sherpa. The Indonesian Navy and Air Force also brought a variety of alutsista, ranging from helicopters to large boats.
In addition to showcasing various modern alutsista, the TNI distributed free food to the public. There were also educational activities about military affairs.
"For example, how to become a soldier, activities related to food resilience, and the provision of clean water carried out by the TNI," said Tarigan.
The public was seen flocking to Monas field in the morning to see the military equipment showcased by the TNI. People of all ages took the opportunity to observe the military aircraft closely.
The TNI allowed the public to board all the parked tactical vehicles. People then captured those moments.
The alutsista exhibition and entertainment stage remained open until the evening before TNI's 80th Anniversary celebration. TNI Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak stated that the alutsista exhibition was deliberately created to accommodate public enthusiasm.
"This is also a form of entertainment for the public. Almost all the alutsista we have, which can be known to the public, we showcase here," said the four-star general at Monas, Central Jakarta, on Saturday.
