TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -The Indonesian National Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) has frozen 811 bank accounts connected to online gambling, with the total frozen funds amounting to Rp154.3 billion.
The action by the Cyber Crime Directorate follows an analysis by the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).
“We are acting on the findings of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center. There is strong suspicion that these funds originate from online gambling,” said Commissioner Ferdy Saragih, Head of Sub-Directorate II of the Cyber Crime Directorate, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
Ferdy added that Bareskrim will pursue the case thoroughly, targeting both the perpetrators and their networks based on the evidence gathered.
“We will continue to carry out crackdowns on accounts linked to online gambling,” he emphasized.
In a related operation, the Cyber Crime Directorate recently arrested three suspects operating international online gambling sites. The arrests took place in North Jakarta on August 20, 2025, and involved individuals identified by the initials AF, BI, and MR.
The suspects served as customer service (CS) admins and also led operations and marketing for the websites Judol Slotbola88, Inibet77, and Rajaspin, which reportedly catered to players in Indonesia and abroad.
Since August 21, 2025, the three suspects have been detained at the Bareskrim Polri detention center. They face multiple charges, including Article 45 Paragraph 3 in conjunction with Article 27 Paragraph 2 of the ITE Law, Articles 82 and 85 of the Fund Transfer Law, Article 303 of the Criminal Code, and Articles 3, 4, and 5 of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Law. If convicted, they could face up to 20 years in prison.
