TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian National Police has revealed 49,306 drug cases from October 2024 to October 2025, during the first year of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka's administration. The National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that the uncovering of these cases led to the arrest of 65,572 suspects and the confiscation of various types of narcotics totaling 214.84 tons.

"From October 2024 to October 2025, the Police revealed 49,306 drug cases involving 65,572 suspects," Sigit said during a drug evidence destruction event at Bhayangkara Field, South Jakarta, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. President Prabowo was also present at the event.

Sigit detailed the seized evidence: 186.7 tons of marijuana; 9.2 tons of crystal meth; 1.9 tons of gorilla tobacco; 2.1 million ecstasy pills; 13.1 million hard drug pills; 27.9 kilograms of ketamine; 34.5 kilograms of cocaine; 6.8 kilograms of heroin; 5.5 kilograms of THC; 18 liters of etomidate; 132.9 kilograms of hashish; 1.4 million 'happy five' pills; and 39.7 kilograms of 'happy water.' "If converted into economic value, the total is equivalent to Rp29.37 trillion," he said.

He mentioned that this success has saved around 630 million lives from the potential abuse of narcotics. The Police claimed to be committed to enhancing efforts in eradicating narcotics by strengthening prevention and law enforcement, as well as being firm and professional.

President Prabowo directly led the destruction of narcotics worth Rp29.37 trillion as a symbol of the government's one-year policy to protect the nation's generation from the threat of narcotics. Based on Tempo's observation, he arrived at the location at 13:20 WIB (Western Indonesia Time). Several high-ranking state officials were also present, including the Chair of the People's Consultative Assembly, Ahmad Muzani; the House Speaker, Puan Maharani; Supreme Court Justice Yanto; Chair of the Honorary Council, Nazaruddin Dek Gam; and the Chair of the House Commission III, Habiburokhman.
