Indonesian Triathlon Team Clinches Overall Championship at 2025 SEA Games

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian triathlon team emerged as the overall champion of the triathlon event at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand after clinching two gold medals in the individual finals for both men and women at Laem Mae Phim Beach, Rayong, on Friday, December 19, 2025.

Martina Ayu Pratiwi and Rashif Amila Yaqin secured the two gold medals on the final day of the competition. Martina demonstrated her dominance once again by winning her fifth gold medal at the 2025 SEA Games after finishing first in the women's individual triathlon. Meanwhile, Rashif secured the gold in the men's category with the best timing.

Martina completed the race, consisting of a 750-meter swim, a 20-kilometer bike ride, and a 5-kilometer run, in a time of 1 hour, 1 minute, 11 seconds. She outpaced the Philippines' athlete Kira Ellis, who won the silver (1 hour 1 minute 3 seconds), and Singapore's representative Herlene Natasha Zhihui Yu, who won the bronze (1 hour 2 minutes 1 second). Another Indonesian representative, Binta Erlen Salsabila, finished in fourth place.

In the men's individual event, Rashif Amila Yaqin emerged as the fastest with a time of 54 minutes 37 seconds. The athlete, affectionately known as Ami, outperformed two Filipino athletes, Andrew Kim Remolino (55 minutes 3 seconds) and Fernando Jose Casares (56 minutes 56 seconds). Another Indonesian representative, Aloysius Reckyardo Mardian, finished in ninth place.

The addition of two gold medals confirmed Indonesia as the overall champion of the triathlon event at the 2025 SEA Games with a total collection of seven gold medals. Indonesia outperformed the Philippines, which collected three gold medals, and Vietnam, with one gold.

Indonesia previously won five gold medals in the aquathlon and duathlon relay events, including the women's and men's relay teams and the mixed relay in aquathlon, as well as the women's and mixed relay in duathlon. Overall, the Indonesian triathlon team brought home 11 medals from the 2025 SEA Games Thailand, consisting of seven gold, three silver, and one bronze.
