TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung dismissed city-owned Bank DKI's IT Director, Amirul Wicaksono, from his position during a closed meeting with the bank's Board of Directors on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. The decision came in response to recent issues with Bank DKI's services.

"So I have decided to immediately relieve the IT director of his duties, effective immediately," Pramono announced during the closed meeting at Jakarta City Hall, as shown in a video shared on his official Instagram account (@pramonoanung) on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

Effective the same day, the IT Director position has been temporarily assigned to another board member, General Director Agus Haryoto Widodo. The following provides a chronological overview of the events leading to the IT Director's dismissal.

Chronology of Bank DKI IT Director's Dismissal

The situation leading to the dismissal commenced when numerous Bank DKI customers reported being unable to perform transactions starting from the night of "takbiran" (the eve of Eid al-Fitr), March 30, 2025. For instance, users on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) complained about the multi-day inaccessibility of Bank DKI's mobile banking application, JakOne Mobile.

"This morning, I am extremely frustrated because @bank_dki has been undergoing MAINTENANCE since the night of takbiran until now, and it's still not resolved," posted user X @la******* on Thursday, April 3, 2025.

Pramono subsequently dismissed the IT Director, stating that this was the third time the bank had experienced severe service disruptions, with the incidents being remarkably similar.

"This incident at Bank DKI is not the first time; this marks the third occurrence. And the circumstances are almost identical, indicating failures in IT implementation and oversight," Pramono said at the Jakarta Provincial Council building on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, as reported by the Antara news agency.

Furthermore, the Governor alluded to a potential financial issue, stating there had been a "fund leak," although he did not disclose the specific amount involved. "Honestly, there has been a fund leak. The Board of Directors of Bank DKI is aware of the figures," he remarked.

Previously, Pramono ensured the safety of Bank DKI customers' funds. He mentioned that he and Jakarta's Vice Governor, Rano Karno, had thoroughly examined the situation at the bank.

"Fundamentally, we assure all Bank DKI customers that their funds are secure and guaranteed by Bank DKI, wherever they are, in any branch," Pramono affirmed at Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

Pramono Indicates Police Report Will Be Filed

In the statement shared via his Instagram video, Pramono firmly mandated that the matter be reported to the authorities for legal investigation. He wrote that "no one is above the law" in Jakarta.

He stressed that actions detrimental to Jakarta's citizens must face legal consequences. "This situation has escalated significantly. It's impossible not to involve external parties [like the police]," Pramono asserted.

He explicitly instructed his administration officials against any interference in the investigation process as he aimed at reinforcing public confidence in the Jakarta Provincial Government's commitment to serving its residents.

"Anyone who attempts to interfere, I will take action. Why is this done? To build public trust and ensure the public's interests are protected," Pramono warned.

Pramono further issued a stern warning that such operational failures must cease immediately. He hoped that Bank DKI could eventually achieve a public listing on the stock exchange. "This (service disruption) must be the last time. There must not be a fourth incident," he emphasized.
