Through his Instagram account, Kanye West—who legally changed his name to Ye—posted a screenshot claiming: “In 2025, Ye’s net worth stands at US$2.77 billion as confirmed by Eton Venture Services.” The valuation, according to the post, was based on his music portfolio and sole ownership of the Yeezy brand.
Captioned “LAA LA LA LA,” a reference to his 2007 hit “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” the claim stood in stark contrast to Forbes' figures. According to Forbes, Kanye West net worth 2025 is estimated at just $400 million.
Why Does the Valuation Have Discrepancy?
The discrepancy between Ye’s claim and Forbes’ estimate comes down to what is counted toward his net worth. Before Adidas terminated its partnership with him on the Yeezy line, Ye’s net worth did in fact sit in the billionaire range in 2022.
But as the brand partnership ended, his valuation dropped significantly. According to The Independent, Forbes now values his net worth at around $400 million, which includes cash, real estate, his music catalog, and a 5% stake in his ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand, Skims.
In addition to Adidas, brands like Balenciaga also severed their relationships with the rapper following his antisemitic remarks and other controversial comments in 2022.
Is Kanye a Billionaire Now?
As of September 2025, Kanye West, or Ye, is no longer a billionaire. According to multiple sources, the termination of his partnership with Adidas in 2022 played the biggest role in the decline. The Yeezy deal was once valued at around $1.5 billion and reportedly earned him $220 million annually, as highlighted by Parade.com.
