La Liga Match Result: Real Madrid Wins 2-0 Against Real Oviedo

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Real Madrid secured a 2-0 victory over Real Oviedo in Week 36 of the 2025/26 La Liga season at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Friday, May 15, 2026.

Goals from Gonzalo Garcia and Jude Bellingham were decisive for Los Blancos during the match.

The three points moved Real Madrid up to 80 points in the standings. But this result did not change the positions of the two teams, with Madrid remaining in second place behind Barcelona, while Oviedo remained bottom of the table, according to the official LaLiga website.

Real Madrid was immediately on the offense, with Gonzalo Garcia managing to get past Eric Bailly on the left flank before sending a cutback into the penalty box at the 6th minute.

The ball then found Franco Mastantuono, who unleashed a powerful shot, but it was saved by Oviedo goalkeeper Aaron Escandell.

Brahim Diaz, who tried to capitalize on the rebound, also failed to score after another crucial save from Escandell.

Another chance came in the 21st minute through Trent Alexander-Arnold. The English defender unleashed a speculative shot from outside the penalty area, which went just wide of the top left corner of Oviedo's goal.

Madrid finally broke the deadlock just before halftime. Following an Oviedo error that resulted in the ball being lost, Brahim Diaz sent a pass to Garcia inside the penalty area.

The young Madrid striker then turned before curling a shot into the bottom right corner of the net in the 43rd minute.

This was Garcia's fifth La Liga goal of the season and gave Madrid a 1-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Madrid continued to dominate play but struggled to extend their lead. The second goal came in the 79th minute through Bellingham.

The English midfielder latched onto a pass from substitute Kylian Mbappé. Bellingham controlled the ball on the edge of the penalty area before unleashing a low left-footed shot that Escandell failed to stop.

The assist proved crucial for Mbappé, despite being jeered by some supporters in the stadium. The 2-0 score for Real Madrid's victory lasted until the final whistle sounded.
