TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Red Sparks bounced back and ensured that the final series of the South Korean Women's Volleyball League (V-League) 2024/2025 would extend to a fourth match. They achieved a decisive victory over the Pink Spiders, narrowing the series score to 1-2.

Red Sparks faced pressure as the host team against the Pink Spiders in the pivotal third encounter on Friday, April 4, 2025. They had previously suffered two defeats while playing as the visiting team.

The battle at the Daejeon Chungmu Gymnasium was fiercely competitive. After conceding the initial two sets, Red Sparks mounted a remarkable comeback, ultimately securing the match with a final score of 3-2 (21-25, 34-36, 25-22, 25-19, 15-11).

Megawati Hangestri, an Indonesian player, was instrumental in Red Sparks' resurgence. She achieved a remarkable individual performance, scoring a match-high 40 points. Her attack success rate reached an impressive 46.91 percent. Her teammate, Vanya Bukilic, also made a significant contribution, adding 31 points to the Red Sparks' tally.

Kim Yeon-kyung registered the highest score for the Pink Spiders. The esteemed player, often referred to as the "South Korean Volleyball Queen," contributed 28 points. Regrettably, her efforts, along with those of her teammates, including Turkish opposite hitter Tutku Bourges (21 points), outside hitter Jeong Yun-ju (16 points), and American outside hitter Anilise Pitzi (14 points), were not sufficient to secure the victory.

The final series employed a best-of-five match format, with the first team to secure three victories being crowned champion. With the current score standing at 2-1, the fourth match was scheduled to take place at Red Sparks' home venue on Sunday, April 6, 2025.

The Pink Spiders have the opportunity to clinch the championship title if they emerge victorious in the upcoming match. Conversely, a win for Red Sparks would necessitate a decisive fifth game to determine the V-League champions.
