TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, recently achieved a milestone by becoming the first person to surpass 400 million subscribers on YouTube. This success was achieved on June 1, 2025.
As reported by the Times of India, MrBeast is known for his YouTube channel, which features large-scale challenges, philanthropic projects, and social experiments that often go viral. With 400 million subscribers, he now far surpasses T-Series, a channel that previously held the record for the most subscribers with 299 million.
Special Trophy from YouTube's CEO
To celebrate this achievement, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan personally presented a Play Button trophy specially designed for MrBeast. Unlike previous awards, which were usually Gold or Diamond Play Buttons, this trophy has a metal frame with a rare blue gemstone centerpiece.
The blue gemstone symbolizes the uniqueness of this achievement, as no creator had previously reached 400 million subscribers. MrBeast shared a photo of the trophy on social media, writing a caption that expressed gratitude to YouTube and his fans.
Despite many praising MrBeast's remarkable achievement, the design of the 400 million subscriber trophy has sparked debate. Some fans feel that the trophy's design looks not much different from previous awards, such as the 10 million or 100 million subscriber buttons, with the addition of a blue centerpiece.
MrBeast is now better known as a successful entrepreneur and YouTuber. According to estimates from Celebrity Net Worth, he reached a net worth of $1 billion earlier this year.
This makes him the eighth-youngest billionaire in the world, as well as the only one who achieved this status without relying on inheritance. His business, managed through Beast Industries, recorded a revenue of $473 million in 2024 and is expected to double his income the following year.
In addition to YouTube content, MrBeast has developed various businesses, such as a food chain, gaming channels, and merchandise. He is also involved in investing in several innovative startups and philanthropic projects.
