TEMPO.COJakarta - President Prabowo Subianto commented again on individuals who criticize, mock, or defame his government's performance. He accused these individuals of being paid by irresponsible parties.

"Perhaps they are paid," Prabowo said during a speech at the harvest festival and self-sufficiency announcement in Karawang Regency, West Java, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

According to him, those who frequently criticize the government believe Indonesia has not achieved success. He highlighted the achievements of Indonesian athletes on the international stage as a counterpoint.

The nation's successes, he said, are not appreciated by the group criticizing the government. "There are no congratulations from them; they do not appreciate the government's efforts," said the head of state.

Prabowo questioned the mental health of those who continuously criticize the government. Nevertheless, he admitted he remains unbothered.

"Let it be, we have no business. They are only smart on social media, unclear," said the Chair of the Gerindra Party.

He said his focus is on securing Indonesia's future with his cabinet. Prabowo touched on government efforts regarding food self-sufficiency.

According to him, Indonesia will soon achieve corn self-sufficiency. Additionally, he promised that feed prices for livestock breeders and farmers will be reduced.

"I want to be president. The achievement I aspire for is the decrease in food prices, decrease in fertilizer prices, decrease in seed prices for the people," he said. "I want the children of farmers to be able to return to high school, to become engineers, to become generals."
