Prabowo Embarks on Three-Nation Visit, First Stop in Saudi Arabia

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto is embarking on a three-nation tour for bilateral meetings and joining the BRICS summit.

Prabowo departed on July 1, 2025, from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in East Jakarta. He was seen off by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Deputy Speaker of the House Sufmi Dasco Ahmad.

State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said Prabowo will visit Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and France.

"The first stop is Saudi Arabia," Prasetyo said at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base.

Prasetyo mentioned that Prabowo will meet with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, to discuss the political situation of the two countries as well as the developments in the Middle East.

During his visit to Saudi Arabia, Prabowo will also discuss the improvements of Hajj handling,  including Indonesia's plan to establish a Hajj village in Saudi Arabia.

"This visit is perfectly timed with the conclusion of the Hajj pilgrimage," he said.

After Saudi Arabia, Prabowo will continue his visit to attend the BRICS Summit in Brazil. Subsequently, he is scheduled to attend the Bastille Day celebrations in France.

Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya joined Prabowo on his flight to Jeddah.

Before boarding the plane, Prabowo was inspecting the training of TNI marching band that will participate in France's Bastille Day parade on July 14, 2025.

"We are not only invited to attend the event, but also given the opportunity to participate in the parade. That, in our view, is an extraordinary honor," said Prasetyo. "We must appear with confidence, order, and gallantry." 

After observing the contingent training, Prabowo boarded the Presidential aircraft at 3:20 p.m. local time.

Indonesia prepared the military contingent upon direct invitation by French President Emmanuel Macron on July 14, 2025 in Paris, France.

"I would like to thank President Macron. In the past, when I was in Paris, I watched the celebrations from the roadside. Now, I have the opportunity to stand on the podium with the president," Prabowo said.
