The following is the list of the top 3 news on Tempo English today:
1. AGO Investigates Alleged Corruption in Telkomsel Investment in GoTo
The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has confirmed that it is currently investigating allegations of corruption in the investment of PT Telkomsel in PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO). "It is still in the investigation stage, so it's still confidential," said the Head of the Attorney General's Office Legal Information Center, Anang Supriatna, via a WhatsApp message on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
Based on a memorandum from the Attorney General's Office dated March 2023, which was received by Tempo, prosecutors suspect unlawful actions in the investment. "Based on data analysis and information related to relevant regulations, there are alleged unlawful actions in Telkom's investment through PT Telkomsel in GoTo's stock purchase," reads the prosecutor's assessment.
The investment being investigated is Telkomsel's capital injection into GoTo during the 2020-2021 period. It began on November 16, 2020, when Telkomsel invested US$150 million in the form of interest-free convertible bonds in PT Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa (AKAB), the parent company of Gojek.
2. BMKG Issues High Wave Warning in Several Indonesian Waters
The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued an early warning of high waves that are likely to occur in several Indonesian waters on November 11 to 14, 2025.
BMKG forecaster Furqon Alfahmi said that the tropical cyclone Fung-Wong (17.4 North Latitude, 119.2 East Longitude) in the West Philippine Sea has triggered an increase in wind speed and wave height.
Meanwhile, the wind patterns in the northern part of Indonesia generally move from southwest to northwest with wind speeds ranging from 4-30 knots, while in the southern part, they generally move from southeast to southwest with wind speeds ranging from 4-25 knots.
3. Observers Speak Out on Indonesia's U-17 World Cup Journey
The Indonesian U-17 National Team failed to advance to the knockout stage in the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2025. The Young Garuda, under coach Nova Arianto, finished third in Group H, behind Brazil and Zambia and ahead of Honduras. However, they failed to qualify as one of the top eight third-place teams. Indonesia, with three points from the victory against Honduras in the final group stage match, did not have enough to progress to the Round of 32 from the third-placed route. The team ended up in tenth place, tied with Mexico in points. However, Mexico advanced from this route with a lower goal difference.
In the two previous group matches, Nova's team lost to Zambia 1-3 and Brazil 0-4. Despite bouncing back to secure a 2-1 victory against Honduras, Young Garuda lost out to Mexico due to the latter's better goal difference (-2 compared to Young Garuda's -5).
