TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe chair of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), Erick Thohir, said that Asnawi Mangkualam and Muhammad Ferarri has been called to represent Indonesia on the ASEAN All-Star team against Manchester United

"We have received a letter from the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) which has been reported to me by the PSSI Secretary General, stating that Ferarri and Asnawi will be part of the team," said Erick Thohir at the Bali United Training Center, Gianyar Regency, Bali, on Friday, April 18.

The ASEAN All-Star squad is set to host the Red Devils in a post-season tour at Bukit Jalil Stadium, Malaysia, on May 28.

Later, PSSI will communicate with the senior national team coach, Patrick Kluivert, as the players also have training schedules in Bali to prepare for the third round of the World Cup qualifiers. "We need to check if the schedule overlaps with their training in Bali, as the dates are quite close," said the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises.

The Indonesian national team still has two remaining matches in Group C of the third round of the 2026 World Cup Asian qualifiers.

Indonesia is set to host China at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium in Jakarta on June 5 and then travel to Japan to face the hosting team on June 10.

Asmawi Mangkualam currently plays for a club in the top tier of the Thai League, Port FC, while Muhammad Ferarri is currently part of Persija Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the ASEAN Football Confederation (AFF) has appointed Vietnam's coach, Kim Sang-sik, to lead the ASEAN All-Star team. This team will comprise players from ASEAN countries.
