TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Metro Police have confirmed that two individuals who were reported missing amid recent protests have been found. The two men, Bima Permana Putra and Eko Purnomo, were located outside of Jakarta. Police concluded that the pair had left their homes voluntarily.

According to the Head of the Public Relations Division of the Jakarta Metro Police, Brigadier General Ade Ary Syam Indradi, the conclusion was reached after obtaining statements from several parties, particularly the families of the two men.

"It is concluded that the two people left home by personal decision," stated Ade on Thursday, September 18, 2025. Ade added, "Bima Permana Putra was found by a team in Malang, and Eko Purnomo was found in Central Kalimantan."

The Director of General Crime Investigation, Grand Commissioner Wira Satya Triputra, revealed that Bima departed for Malang on September 1, 2025, on his motorcycle. Along the way, he impulsively sold his motorcycle and continued his journey by train. Bima stayed in a hotel for several nights before deciding to become a toy vendor in the Klenteng Lama area. Wira noted that Bima "wanted to live independently."

Eko, meanwhile, had lost contact with his family. He only contacted his mother on September 16, 2025, after being reported missing since around September 4, 2025. Eko informed his parents that he was now working as a fisherman in Central Kalimantan. The Director of Cyber Crime Investigation, Roberto GM Pasaribu, confirmed that Eko was "working on a ship to make a living."

The Jakarta Metro Police initiated a search after receiving missing persons reports from the Missing Persons Complaint Center (Kontras). The two men's whereabouts were unknown following large-scale demonstrations in late August.

Bima Permana Putra and Eko Purnomo were among the individuals that Kontras had previously reported missing. The two other people who are still missing, Reno Syachputra Dewo and Muhammad Farhan Hamid, have not yet been located.
