TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Brazilian U-17 national team started their journey in Group H of the 2025 U-17 World Cup with a resounding 7-0 victory over Honduras on Tuesday night, November 4, 2025, at the Aspire Zone in Doha, Qatar. This result serves as a signal for the Indonesian U-17 national team, who will face Brazil in the second match of the group stage on Friday, November 7, 2025.

The Selecao youngsters displayed dominance from the beginning. Goals were scored by Ruan Pablo in the 9th minute, Dell in the 15th and 45+4th minutes, Felipe Morais in the 19th minute, Vitor Hugo in the 59th minute, Angelo Candido in the 74th minute, and Gabriel Mec in the 90th minute. According to ESPN data, Brazil controlled 70.9 percent of possession and made 10 on-target shots. Flashscore recorded that Brazil had a total of 20 shots compared to Honduras' 4, and also had an edge in crossing accuracy of 38 percent to 21 percent.

This resounding victory highlights four key players who were influential and must be watched out for by the Nova Arianto's squad.

1. Dell

The player wearing number 9 from Bahia acted as the spearhead with two goals and one assist. Dell possesses explosive speed and dangerous positioning in the penalty area.

He recorded five shots, four of which were on target, with a passing accuracy of 89 percent. If Indonesia's defensive line, possibly consisting of Putu Panji Apriawan, Lucas Lee, and Eizar Jacob, is slow to react, Dell could exploit the space behind the center-backs.

2. Ruan Pablo

The 16-year-old player opened the scoring for Brazil in the 9th minute and provided two key passes and seven successful dribbles. He prefers cutting inside from the right as an inverted winger.

Indonesian left-backs, such as Mathew Baker or Lucas Lee, have to be cautious in one-on-one duels and avoid pushing too far forward. Indonesia also needs to utilize their front-line players for defensive duties.

3. Angelo Candido

Angelo scored a beautiful goal from outside the penalty area and provided one assist. He often switches positions to become a false nine when Dell moves to the center and exploits the space between the lines.

Angelo is a midfielder who freely moves from the middle or second line. If Indonesian midfielders such as Evandra Florasta or Fadly Alberto Hengga focus too much on Dell, Angelo could have the freedom to penetrate from behind.

4. Gabriel Mec

Gabriel entered the game in the 64th minute, replacing Morais in the match against Honduras. Mec sealed the victory with a 30-meter solo run in the 90th minute. He was able to draw opposition defenders out of position and score when the opponents lost focus.

Discipline in the defensive midfield and the use of an offside trap are crucial to containing his movements. Additionally, the young Garuda squad must focus on closing down other avenues of attack and resist the temptation to join in building counter-attacks.

The Brazil U-17 team is not only fast and technical but also disciplined and organized. Nevertheless, coach Nova Arianto believes that the opportunity remains open. Discipline throughout the 90 minutes and capitalizing on counter-attacking moments could be the key for the Garuda Muda to create a surprise.
