TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, officially appointed Agustina Arumsari, Deputy Head of BGN, as the spokesperson for BGN. The appointment was made after a closed-door working meeting between BGN and the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Commission IX, which discussed the BGN 2027 budget at the Parliamentary Complex, in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday, June 15, 2026.
Nanik explained that the appointment of the spokesperson was a result of input provided by several Commission IX members during the working meeting. According to her, the presence of a spokesperson is important for strengthening institutional communication and ensuring the effective and targeted dissemination of information to the public.
"In the meeting, we received various constructive inputs from the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission IX. One of them relates to the importance of strengthening public communication functions within BGN," said Nanik.
Nanik stated that BGN is currently implementing various strategic programs of broad public concern, requiring an official communication channel to swiftly and accurately explain policies, program achievements, and current developments.
"Therefore, we decided to appoint Agustina Arumsari as the BGN spokesperson. We hope that BGN's public communication function becomes stronger, more open, and responsive to the public's information needs," Nanik said.
Furthermore, Nanik regards Agustina as having a comprehensive understanding of policy directions, work programs, and various strategic issues that are the focus of the agency. Given her experience, she should be able to facilitate communication between BGN and the public, the media, and other stakeholders.
Nanik emphasized that transparency and open access to information are essential parts of good institutional governance. Therefore, BGN is committed to strengthening public communication as a means of being accountable to the public.
"BGN will continue to create a space for healthy, transparent, and data-driven communication. The presence of the spokesperson is expected to accelerate the dissemination of information and enhance public understanding of the various programs implemented by BGN," Nanik said.
