TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts the weather in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) to be mostly sunny with some areas experiencing thick clouds on Sunday, July 13, 2025. However, there is a potential for light rain showers in several areas in the afternoon. The situation is monitored through BMKG's official website and Instagram account.
Based on BMKG's prediction, there is still potential for light rain showers in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and North Jakarta from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time). Light rain is also expected in the Thousand Islands at 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM WIB and 10:00 PM WIB.
Overall, the temperature in the region is estimated to range from 24-33 degrees Celsius, with wind speeds around 1-17 kilometers per hour.
In West Java, light rain showers are expected in Bogor Regency from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM WIB. Light rain is also likely to affect Bogor City, Depok City, Bekasi Regency, and Bekasi City from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM WIB.
The temperature in Bogor Regency is around 18-32 degrees Celsius, while in other areas, it ranges from 20-33 degrees Celsius. Wind speeds are estimated to be around 6-10 kilometers per hour.
In Banten, light rain is likely to cover Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City, and South Tangerang City. The temperature in these areas is estimated to range from 23-32 degrees Celsius.
According to BMKG, until the end of June, only about 30 percent of the seasonal zones in Indonesia have entered the dry season. However, most of Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua still have the potential to experience moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds in the next week.
"The public must remain vigilant, even though according to the calendar, we are in the dry season. Do not be complacent, the weather can change quickly and have a significant impact," BMKG stated in a press release on Saturday, July 12, 2025.
The atmospheric dynamics affect the weather in this year's dry season, such as the continued formation of convective or rain clouds, as well as equatorial Rossby and Kelvin waves, convergence zones, wind convergence, and the potential for cyclonic circulation around the Indian and Pacific Oceans, which continue to drive the formation of widespread rain clouds.
