TEMPO.COJakarta - Several areas affected by floods and landslides in Aceh Province are difficult to access due to damaged road infrastructure. The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) is therefore sending logistical aid and equipment via the sea route.

BNPB dispatched the aid from Ulee Lhueu Port in Banda Aceh using the Express Bahari ship on Sunday, November 30, 2025. "The planned aid via the sea route will reach five areas," said Abdul Muhari, Head of the Data, Information, and Disaster Communication Center of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), today.

Muhari stated that the total aid dispatched weighs 27 tons. The logistics will reach five areas: Lhokseumawe, North Aceh, East Aceh, Langsa City, and Aceh Tamiang.

The aid will stop at two ports to reach these areas: Krengkuku Port (to reach North Aceh and Lhokseumawe) and Kuala Langsa Port (to reach Langsa City, East Aceh, and Aceh Tamiang).

Casualty Update Across Sumatra

The number of casualties due to floods and landslides in Sumatra continues to increase. BNPB found that the number has reached dozens to hundreds of victims across the three affected provinces, Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatras, up to this weekend.

The Head of BNPB, Lieutenant General Suharyanto, revealed the latest data during a virtual disaster management coordination meeting on Sunday, November 30, 2025. "Several regencies/cities are affected," Suharyanto said in the meeting.

Aceh Province: The number of confirmed casualties until Sunday is 54. Meanwhile, 55 other people are still reported missing in the province.

West Sumatra Province: The number of casualties is 90 deaths, with 87 others reported missing and still being searched for until Sunday.

North Sumatra Province: The highest number of casualties is recorded in this region. BNPB recorded 173 deaths and 145 others are still missing.

BNPB continues the search and rescue operations for the missing and deceased until today. The operation is carried out by a combined search and rescue (SAR) team.
