Floods in Jakarta Expand to 46 Areas, Height Reaches 1.3 Meters

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Jakarta stated that flooding in Jakarta has once again expanded. Previously, it was mentioned that floods had inundated 35 Neighborhood Units (RT) in West, East, South, and North Jakarta, but now the number has increased to 46 RTs.

"As of 06:00 AM WIB (Western Indonesian Time), there is flooding in 46 RTs," said the Head of BPBD Jakarta, Isnawa Adji, in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

Data released by BPBD Jakarta on Tuesday at 05:00 AM WIB showed that the flooding occurred in 35 RTs, comprising seven RTs in West Jakarta, one RT in East Jakarta, 25 RTs in South Jakarta, and two RTs in North Jakarta.

Subsequently, the latest data as of Tuesday at 06.00 AM WIB shows that the flooding has expanded, resulting in 46 RTs in that area being submerged, with details of 10 RT in West Jakarta, nine RT in East Jakarta, 25 RTs in South Jakarta, and two RT in North Jakarta.

The floods in West, East, and South Jakarta were caused by heavy rainfall on Monday evening through the night, as well as the overflow of several rivers in those areas.

Meanwhile, in North Jakarta, the flooding was caused by high-intensity rainfall and the occurrence of coastal flooding in the area.

BPBD recorded water levels ranging from 30 centimeters (cm) to 1.3 meters.

Here are the details of the 46 RTs still submerged in floodwaters:

West Jakarta has 10 RT, consisting of:

- Duri Kosambi Sub-district: 1 RT
*Height: 40 cm
*Cause: Angke River overflow

- Kedaung Kali Angke Sub-district: 4 RTs
*Height: 50 cm
*Cause: High rainfall and Kali Cengkareng River overflow

- Rawa Buaya Sub-district: 1 RT
*Height: 40 cm
*Cause: High rainfall and Semanan River overflow

- Semanan Sub-district: 1 RT
*Height: 30 cm
*Cause: High rainfall and Semanan River overflow

- Joglo Sub-district: 1 RT
*Height: 30 cm
*Cause: High rainfall and Gebyuran River overflow

- Kembangan Selatan Sub-district: 1 RT
*Height: 30 cm
*Cause: Angke River overflow

- Kembangan Utara Sub-district: 1 RT
*Height: 60 cm
*Cause: High rainfall and Angke River overflow

South Jakarta has 25 RT, consisting of:

- Bangka Sub-district: 2 RTs
*Height: 100 cm
*Cause: High rainfall and Krukut River overflow

- Kuningan Barat Sub-district: 7 RTs
*Height: 95 cm
*Cause: High rainfall and Krukut River overflow

- Pela Mampang Sub-district: 9 RTs
*Height: 60 cm
*Cause: High rainfall and Krukut River overflow

- Duren Tiga Sub-district: 4 RTs
*Height: 130 cm
*Cause: High rainfall and Mampang River overflow

- Jati Padang Sub-district: 3 RTs
*Height: 85 cm
*Cause: High rainfall and PHB GG Saiman River overflow

East Jakarta has 9 RT, consisting of:

- Kampung Melayu Sub-district: 4 RTs
*Height: 60 cm
*Cause: Ciliwung River overflow

- Balekambang Sub-district: 2 RTs
*Height: 40 cm
*Cause: High rainfall

Cililitan Sub-district: 3 RTs
*Height: 120 cm
*Cause: Ciliwung River overflow

North Jakarta has 2 RT, consisting of:

- Kapuk Muara Sub-district: 2 RTs
*Height: 65 cm
*Cause: High rainfall and ROB
