TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Culture has encouraged the public to fly the national flag at half-mast on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, as part of the commemoration of Pancasila Sanctity Day on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
This appeal was formalized in a circular letter number 8417/MK.L/TU.02.03/2025 signed by Culture Minister Fadli Zon on September 17, 2025.
"Every central and regional government office, the representative offices of the Republic of Indonesia abroad, educational institutions, and all components of the Indonesian people on September 30, 2025, are requested to raise the flag at half-mast, and on October 1, 2025, at 06:00 local time, the flag should be hoisted to full mast," Minister Fadli Zon requested in the letter.
The circular also details the procedures for government offices and the public to follow for this flag protocol.
The central Pancasila Sanctity ceremony, with the theme "Pancasila: The Nation's Unity Towards Great Indonesia," will be held at the Pancasila Sakti Monument, Lubang Buaya, East Jakarta. Regional ceremonies will be held as determined by local leaders.
Fadli Zon also suggested that the public follow the upcoming address he will deliver. "On October 1, 2025, the public is encouraged to listen to the Culture Minister's speech through the Ministry of Culture's official YouTube channel or via Indonesiana TV."
